OK, I didn't want to play beta just because I didn't want to spoil the real game for myself. Now, about four hours into the single player game, I can say that it is a huge disappointment. Graphics and animation is not even close to COD4, I think it's even worth then COD2. The biggest disappointment are the weapons... crude, ugly and unrealistic, sights looks like were penciled in by a child. Weapons choice is good, but they all look and sound really "cheap". Single player game on regular mode is way to easy, you can take stupid amount of bullets before going down, enemy is easy to kill and standing still taking a shots most of the time. There is a major "water" glitch in a very first episode. I feel that this game was probably rushed in riding the wave of success of COD4, and the crew who worked on it not even close to the guys who made COD2 and 4. The language is rough all the time BTW, and far from being a prude, I see no reason what so ever for it.
My computer didn't even "blink" after playing four hours at the maxed out settings on highest resolution, and that's probably the only good news so far.
You can blast me as much as you want now, but first impression is usually the lasting one. Can't wait to hear your reviews people...

no i agree for the most part..i think graphics are not up to the standard i expected in single player..then again SP is also hard capped at 65 degree fov which will affect how the game looks.

But on the other side of the fence SP is becoming a smaller part of the whole game all the time..i base my judgments mostly on the Mp part of the game more so then the single player..

as for the sound, they used sound occlusion which makes the game sound different then most people are used to..it doesn't sound as robust ..but its a different way of processing game sound and it will take some time to get used to it..

But in the end Multiplayer graphics look great ..really nice..but as i said earlier setting the fov to 80 also helps a lot..i notice a big difference between fov 65 and 80 using the same resolution.

I only played about 30 minutes today, but I to was dissaponted with the SP. I havent tried the MP yet but will do later today after I get off work. My graphics seem to be a bit crude as well, but that just maybe my card...but in my opinion, they are not nearly as good as COD4. By the way...what is fov??

FOV = Field of View. You can adjust it in CoD4 but I haven't tried it on the new one yet. I'm with Salaga about the weaponry. They just flat out stink. I'm not impressed at all with this game so far. The graphics are ok but I'm not completely blown away. Maybe Infinity Ward should've made this one? It looks like I'll be sticking with CoD4. lol

you can adjust your fov in single player and multiplayer by opening up to config file or typing in the console /cg_fov 80

i am still waiting for to get the game and apply my config file to it to see how it looks i wasnt very impressed with the beta

as a standerd the config file for cod w@w has alot of things turned off which call of duty has turned on as far as i can see its basicly just cod4 but with so much turned off and/or missing

The fov setting in cod5 seems to make a bigger difference in the appearance of the game then it did in cod4.

Its works perfectly in MP..but the setting doesn't want to stick in SP though..

But with my 22 inch monitor @ 1680x1050 and fov set at 80 the Mp graphics look amazing..

We dont get the game release till friday but i was under the impression that for cheapness they are using the cod4 grafix engine so it shouldn't look or play too much different from 4 saying that the beta game for me was not smooth for me and the grafix weren't as good as 4 but i hoped thereal game would be better after proper set up
I will find out friday

The engine is the same as COD4, but they didn't do a good job of using it. The surroundings look just OK to me, people faces made very crude and roughly animated, not us much details or color as in COD4. Still cannot get into multi player for some reason, it's keep asking for a patch, which is applied and showing on the main screen

I tried the same while playing online with Fruit earlier and it worked like a charm. BUT......we just tried logging into our accounts to play online and we can't get online. I went digging around on the internet and ran across people having the same problem....so the master server appears to be down for now (go figure!). I tried getting it to show FPS by typing in the same command used on CoD4, with no success. Have any of you guys successfully done this yet? If so, please let a brotha know! LOL

I will admit that I really like the online play at this point (with the exception of the noob tanks). When you release the dogs (You have to achieve 7 kills, I think) on the enemy, they go bonkers! LOL
