This was just posted this morning @ the call of Duty forums by one of the developers...might help some of you out..with AMD 64 x2 dual core processors.

you'll want the dual core optimizer from that list of downloads.

..have an AMD 64 x2 processor And are also having Server Authentication problems / in-game connectivity problems?

Just a heads-up for anybody using an AMD 64 X2 CPU and are having connectivity issues with CoD:WW. This is a perfect example of how in many cases a "bug" with a game is caused by hardware or other software configurations, and next to impossible (or impossible) for us to fix for you.

In this case, we learned that there is a bug with the AMD 64 X2 processor which causes Windows XP to return negative ping times intermittently, which would cause a connectivity issue to our game / master servers during authentication.

AMD has a new X2 driver for Windows XP SP2 which solves this problem. You can download it below:

http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html

Before installing this driver, be sure you have Windows XP SP2, and after installing this driver be sure you reboot you computer. After that, your problem should be resolved.

If you are a Vista user with this CPU and are having the same issues, or this doesn't solve your problem, please research more on other tech forums and AMD's site for a solution. Now that we know there are some issues with this chipset, it would be helpful if any fixes you employ you post for us to add to our knowledge base. We'll keep you updated as we find anything else.

Hope that helps,

Regards,
-JD
