Does anyone uses RAID hard drives? Is it really faster then the single drive?
My mobo is capable of handling RAID, and I thought sense I need extra drive anyway to go Raid with my current 500MB HD. Just not sure if is it worth the effort

You shouldn't use Raid on hard drives Sal. Find another way to get rid of the bugs in your computer like Norton, or Mcafee, or Spybot, etc.:5duh:

Depends on what kind of RAID you want to set up.
RAID 0 is the fastest RAID setup. You'll need a minimum of 2 disks.
It's approximately twice as fast as a single disk.
Best is to put 2 disk of the same capacity in your system.
Because you'll only have the capacity of the smallest disk x 2.
Example, when one is 500 MB and the second is 750 GB, you'll only have 2X 500 MB of disk space...
When one disk gets broken, you'll lose all your data.
I hope this helps a bit.

I was thinking to get exactly the same disk as I have now. Is OS stays on one disk or I'll have to reinstall everything?

If you want to add just one disk, you'll have to reinstall your OS, yes.
The good thing is that your OS will load faster.
If you don't want to reinstall your OS, you'll have to buy 2 new disks and set them up as RAID 0.
