I have added a few RSS feeds to the forum. Was wanting to know what you think about them, likes, dislikes, etc.?

If there are any sites with RSS feeds that you would like to see added to the forum let me know the address and we will have a look at them.

Still looking for feedback on the RSS feeds. Tell me what you think?

It's an interesting feature, as this is one of the sites I check daily, it can help me keep up on any news happenings during the day. I like it.

LOL...I can also set it to where when you click the New Post link it excludes the RSS forum in the results.

Like I said looking for feedback...keep it coming.

I like it David, thanks! As a news junkie, I always like the quick availability of information. The only thing - The RSS feed seems to overwhelm the new posts by the members and regulars, and I mainly come to the forum to hear what the good folks of the ToB are sayin'. My two cents...

I agree with Boss. Seems to be the best of both worlds. I pop in to see what people from TOB are talking about. The news feeds have taken over the Recent posts section.

For those that do not want to see the RSS feeds show up when they hit the new post button make you a shortcut with this link. Then when you click that link it will show you all new post with the exception of the RSS Feeds

I am undecided, as Joy. Some interesting staff, just little too much to handle

Then use this and you will not see them unless you want to.

make a shortcut where ?

Anywhere...on your desktop or you can make a bookmark which is what I did. Bookmark a page and then right click on the properties and change the location to that url and then name it to what you want. Works good if you put it in the bookmark toolbar.

I like the idea of being able to filter the ESS feeds from the New Post section and will make the shortcut as you suggested.

On another note...why are all of those PB bans coming through? Many of them are quite old.

The PBBans that i was posting was being done manually. I have added that as an RSS feed and it pulled all of them the first time, from now own they will post automatically as they happen.

David, at this time the RSS feeds still show in New Post, but it seems to be the ones from yesterday etc. I like the Idea, I like to be properly informed, and alot of the feeds are sites I visit regularly, like the BBC, I would prefer the filter myself, so that I can see what is prevelant to the ToB, also if the RSS feeds are too prevelant new visitors may be overwhelmed tryign to navigate the site .

I'm with Karl, I have all these on my home page. Come here to quickly browse what's going on with the ToB and Call of Duty. Having the forum section for them is good, you can quickly scan the headlines and see if something interest you.

I don't much like all the news feeds that you have now put on the forums. IMHO they take up a lot of my time, when I only want to know what the members and guests are saying, I have to trawl throught all that each and every day, I like to coast the forums, but now there is so much to sife through it will take time which I don't have a lot of.

David.

I think the RSS feeds as such are pretty cool. It's nice to know what's going on on other parts of the world.

But, do I want to see them on my fav gaming community site? Honestly? Then I have to see no. Unless they are (computer) game(s) related.

Sorry David, but you wanted my honest opinion....

Even with a way to search the new post that exclude the feeds you still do not like them?

I think it may have more to do with the bottom section that shows the last five post. I use this a lot to see what's going on, and it usually only has one or two new post. But with the RSS post rolling by so fast, I have to go to the new post button and weed through them. I know about the short cut, and could use it.

I have change that section to show the last 15 new post and that excludes the RSS feeds with the exception of the PBBans which those will all fall off after 3 days anyway and then from that point on only new PBBans bans will show up there.

When you click the New Post button at the top of the forum it will now exclude the RSS feed section. I have added another New Post with RSS Feeds button for those that like the feeds to use.

Fantastic, I like the way it is set up now, this way we can still pay attention to the regulars and guests that need assistance or just want to make a post and with the click of a button, I can catch up to the news.
Thanks David
