Perhaps a good publicity for the royal family. But all the extra-protection that they are going to get for him will get a lot of pressure on the other british soldiers in Iraq. My call would be if he wants to go to Iraq no special treatment for him, in the army he should be a regular soldier like all the other soldiers serving besides him.

Feel bad for the unit....The Irqaqis have proven they cant keep any secrets. His unit will be targeted by the insurgents and it will be all out suicide attack in the likes we have not seen. Hope I'm wrong kid seems like a good sort but he is a huge win for the bad guys if they kill him.

PS Goggsy is right the unit is the one who will bear the brunt.

I for one wonder at his motives... Perhaps it is nothing more than a sense of patriotism that he has let himself be deployed... I mean in our wars we have had Icons, go to war and there never was a real problem with it tha tI can recall, I know that his is a different war with all the car bombs etc. and If he decides to go then it should be as an average tanker, and yes nix the bodyguards. If Harry wants to put himself in harms way then he shouldn't risk the lives of people that are there to protect him.

I didn't know this would be such a sensitive subject. Yes, it is too bad that he has to be surrounded by innocents. I understand his life is important to the monarchy, but isn't every human's life just AS important?!

I did..particularly the guy who said the maternal thing and a gun.

I feel bad for the unti and Harry. he was in a lose/lose situation. If he doesn't go, he looks like a spoiled baby who's being taken care of and diminishes the Royals rep. If he does go he risks the lives of his unit.

I'm glad I'm not a young, privileged person who is extremely wealthy merely because my ancestors oppressed millions centuries ago. The things those wealthy royals must endure....

as far as i am concerned i feel he should go he is a future king of our country and many kings before him from England and other countries will / have been to wars etc. so good on him
