All,

Anyone know why I keep getting kicked from pb due to heartbeat stopped exe. issues?

It is happening on both CoD4 and W@W...............

I have manually updated pb ....twice..........and it still happens?

I have not changed any settings on my machine.

Try connecting a pace maker to your machine. Give it a couple of paddles (hot wire to power outlet works as well) and if that does not work, soak the box in water and start all over. :D

Maybe you need AED.exe installed:sheep:, they are just about everywhere now, probably need one for your computer....LOL J/K


Have you noticed you ping being higher than normal, could be a communication issue(modem/router) that is external or possible an update issue with an anti-virus/firewall issue. Try disabling them see if the issue goes away.

I am not running any anti-virus software when I play (turned off).

This is really bloody annoying!

I found this, not sure if it'll work/help, but it may be worth a shot.


The most common fix for PB errors it to
manually uninstall/reinstall Punkbuster with pbsuv.

1. Download pbsvc (http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe)
2. Start pbsvc installer, you should see options for install, uninstall, test.
3. Run the Uninstaller, then delete the PB folder to remove any leftover files.
4. Restart your computer.
5. reinstall punk buster files with pbsvc( if your using Vista DO NOT set compatibility to XP, run as admin ok)
6. After pcsvc installs, click the "test" option to check the punk buster install you just did.
5. Make sure it comes back "all green"
6.Download pbsetup (http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php)(pbsvc DOES NOT install pbsetup.
If your using Vista DO NOT set compatibility to XP, run as admin ok)
7.Create a pbsvc installer shortcut AND pbsetup program shortcut on your desktop.
8.Run pbsetup (from the shortcut on your desktop) add Call Of Duty 4 (or 5) to the games list, then hit update."

Do you run other programs in the background Brett?
Things like MSN, Teamspeak, etc.? Those can cause this problem.

All,

Thanks to David and a lot of searching of the internet........

I have manually deleted my PunkBuster B exe files and restarted the game.....and the darn thing is working again.

There must have been an issue with the B exe program that even PB's own test didn't find????

Anyway, hope to kill you all again soon.
