Well, the reason Ive not been on the battlefield over the weekend was cos I was sitting by a large lake for the last time this season, pitting my wits against my old adversary, Mr Carp. At roughly 9pm Sat. night I had an extremely vilont take and went to battle with one very angry Carp, but after not catching one since last November, Mr angry Carp stood no chance, and I slipped the net under one of the original stocked fish (20 years + old) that was 25lb exactly. Not one of the resident monsters, but my god, did it feel good... Hence a bottle of the finest New Zealend Red was swiftly polished off to celebrate.... :5bouncy:

what ya use for bait? We used to make a dough out of gelatin, cornmeal, and sugar. Maybe mimx some ground up earth worm into it.
Corn also worked great! :)

Sounds like you had a blast. Next time expound a little on the story. Stretch it out a little, Love a good fish story, or huntin story. Yeah definatly put up some pics for us all to admire the work.

Yes it was landed on 15lb line and a size 8 hook using a fishmeal boilee with bloodworm pellet in a small PVA bag. The "wet" patch is from where it was just lifted from the un-hooking mat that was draped up my legs to stop any potential damage to the fish. The "look" on my face was from sheer exhiliration, after waiting for months to finally hook and land a fish...

thats is one big fish.
