Hi all ive had cod4 since it came out, never had this prob of keep being kicked before it only started today.
The message i get is Restriction Unknown Windows api function [131134]
can anybody help pls.

Have you tried to manually update pb at http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php
If that doesn't work try uninstalling pb and run CCleaner if you have it ,if not download CCleaner from CNET free, then reboot and reinstall pb

The cause for the issue is :
a) The DVD copy protection "Alpha-DVD"
b) software named “Blink” which is installed on the computer.



Try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Scenario 1:
If you have recently watched a DVD on your computer that installed this copy protection, I would suggest you to uninstall it first.

Please use the following tool to remove the software

Scenario 2:
If you have Blink installed on the computer, then you can try the following steps:

1.In Blink go to View>Options...
2.Click the Application Protection tab.
3.Select Monitor and log only.
4.Reboot (this is required).
5.Turn off Application Protection.


NOTE: If this error occurs in Call of Duty 4 Steam/Valve version, disabling steam community fix might as well work in this scenario.

I would suggest you to disable steam community by following the below mentioned steps:

1. Right clicking the steam icon in the bottom right hand corner.

2. Click settings.

3. Go to the tab in-game.

4. Uncheck the box Enable Steam Community In-game.

5. Hit ok.

the above link makes reference to the API errors in BF2, but from what I've read about the API errors, it's universal, so one fix SHOULD work across all games.

Many thanks guys i did a system restor last night, before i read this and it seems to have stop pb kicking me at mom. IF pb starts its anttics again i will return to this thread and try what is suggested here.
