I found out how to permanatly show hidden files that you would have to press compatibilty button to uncover
If you already know then sorry, but i thought i would pass it on

On my computer screen where you access c,d, etc drives click on Organize top left
Then Folder and search options
Then click View
and then change boxes "do not show hidden files and folders" for "show hidden files etc"
Also untick "hide extensions for known file types"

This works for vista and windows 7 but for 7 you need to untick hide empty drives as well
And dont forget to press APPLY as i forgot lol

You can also if you wish untick "hide protected operating systems files if you want to access them
This should then allow you to access app data files etc with out hunting for them ,you can still tell what files should be hidden as they come up lighter in files list

Hope someone finds this useful, I did

Summary of what checking/unchecking those boxes will do:
All you need to see the App Data files is "Show hidden files, folder and drives"
You use the "hide extensions for known file types" for if you need to change file types for coding
And the "Hide empty drives in Computer folder" hides the slots if you have a multi slot card reader that is not being used.
