This may be a long one... sorry in advance if I ramble... I started playing drums when I was 10... by the time I was in college, I was fairly good. I was in a "cover" band that played a lot of Rush, Yes, and the like. I wanted to be a rock star and write my own songs so naturally I started messing around on the guitar when I was 16. Although, I wouldn't say I'm accomplished, I can hang in there with my Jeff Beck, Adrian Belew, and I don't think there is a David Bowie or Elvis Costello song I can't play note for note. I did a lot of recording before kids. When I was in high school I started taking vocal lessons and singing in our high school chorale. I was "first chair" when I was a senior and got a couple of scholarships to study music at Ohio University as a vocal performance major. That lasted two years as my major. I continued to sing with the "elite" vocal ensemble there until I graduated though. I warned you that it might be long!
