I will preface my question by saying I know I was wrong in doing so. :5duh: It was inexpensive.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had to move my computer from one room in my house to another to allow the little Chilean Seabass to sleep. The room I moved it did not have a way to connect to my router through the LAN. So... I went out an bought one of those USB wireless devices (see the preface statement). It has been running well for a while until now. The device is working correctly. The OS says so. It is always right (insert layghter here). However, I network connects says that the device is not attached.
I am in COD withdrawl. I am getting the shakes in my trigger finger. I gets really bad when thinking of mac-n-cheese. HELP! Any solutions are appreciated.

It does not seem to be the router. I have several other boxes that are able to access the router.

Try doing a roll-back to a known date that it worked (the most recent). That usually sorts it out :icon_wink:

Have you unplugged and re-plugged in your USB wireless transceiver?
Also, do a start->run->cmd, then in the cmd window, type ipconfig
Does that give you an I/P address on your network?
Do you have it plugged directly into a USB port on your box, or do you have it plugged into a USB hub?
Does it have a button on it to reset it?
Can you repair it (may have to go into the network icon in the control panel to do that).
Also, are there any mods around to move this into the Tech Area section?

Mate I have a similar problem with my wireless - for some reason I need to have my USB wireless receiver unplugged when I boot up the PC. Once all up and running I can plug it in, it finds the network and runs with no problems.
Have no idea why, my housemate is able to leave his in permanently....
Hope you manage to sort it out soon.

NexoAlpha - are you running XP, or some other version of Windows?
I've had that issue with 2000, and also with ME and 98...but never XP.
Check your USB legacy support in the BIOS - is it on or off? Did you try it the other way?
I have also seen that happen with the manufacturer software - is there an update available?

Ah cheers matey, I'm running XP so will check the above when I get back home from this trip.... Hopefully it'll solve one of those small but annoying little problems.
