Hi all,
As you can see from my Bunkbuster thread, Im having a mare! I have had a look around this morning and have seen a few people have resorted to working with duel O/S's. So.... I have a spare 47gb hard disk. Is it possible to install this and install XP on it whilst not effecting Vista? Can I then install CoD2 and PB on this hard disk and work with XP as normal? Has anyone done this and is it "simple-ish"?

The answer is YES, but it isnt a simple yes...
If you already have XP installed you can install Vista in another partition or drive and it will dual boot.
but there are some considerations when XP boots it will assume all the drives belong to it and will overwrite Vista's restore info on the Vista partition. BAD. this can be corrected by telling XP not to create restore info for that drive or all drives.
That solves that problem.
The other issue is more difficult, if Vista is installed and you want to put a second disk in and install XP, you can do that...
PROBLEM, Vista and XP use different boot managers and if you install XP second it will wipe out Vista's boot manager.
EASY SOLUTION, after XP is installed BOOT THE SYSTEM with your VISTA DVD and select the option "Repair Boot Manager" or something like that.
If you really want to go to all that pain, let me know and I'll point you to the Mickeysoft KB article for the steps.

For what it's worth, just got my copy of PC Gamer's November issue and there's an article in there about how to install Vista and the dual boot....right after the article on DX10.....step by step how-to's...:)
easy enough to deal with. But a pain in the butt. Mine is working fine now check your BunkBuster thread.
