Just started playing the Rouen Final map and I've got a huge glitch....

When someone on the other team is behind any wall or building, or they are inside a building (somewhere they can't be seen), their shadow is projected onto the object in between them and myself which I can then see...!?! Means I can follow people around when they are hidden away....

Hope this makes sense, should have got a screenshot but didn't think of it.

Not sure whether its the map, just my copy of the map, or something else but thought I'd let people know.

If someone lets me know the .iwd name I'll delete and try downloading again to see whether that solves it, otherwise I'll just bail out when the map rotates on.

Cheers

There is also a glitch that allows a player to go under a building.

the under a building is a tunnel but its secretly hidden...found it one morning.

Carper I think said he could see in buildings..I think its a vista or your graphics settings but I cant see though them but then again I have not tried messing with my graphics brightness much on that map.

the shadows on the outside of buildings you are in or on top of is a common problem with custom maps due to the designer's way of putting in the "light" for the map.

It is unfortunate cause it does sho where people generally are - but unless the designer fixes the map - it will exist.

I have seen this on MOST maps so I would not elminate a map just because of that.

Revloution for example does it (can see a hint of it on the outside of the window).

Sometimes I try and tell the other person (after I shoot them :-) that I saw their shadow so they know not to go back there.

I know all what I said does not solve the issue - but it is something I doubt we can avoid without eliminating several maps.

I've noticed that issue also, it occured when I got a new graphic card and installed the nVidia drivers. I put in the newest drivers this weekend and the "telltale shadows" seem to have gone away. I hope that helps a little.

I think it's map related. Sometimes see it and most of the times I don't. Even without changing graphics settings it can come and go on the same map.
