Hey guys, just wondering why I was banned?
Username: CLUSTERFUNK
Been playing on your server since the game came out, nothing but gg's as far as I could tell?
Maybe a mistake?

Oh! Well in that case I'll be careful with the profanity. I'm used to playing online with the 30 year+ old timers with party mouths... haha
But I can understand how that shouldn't be related onto your server.
Obvisouly I'm here to request an unban, considering I never received a warning I figure it's only fair.

You know I consider myself a 30+ old timer with a colourful vocabulary.......as anyone that knows me will attest.
However I do not take the time to type offensive language when playing a game on a server that makes no secret of the fact that it will not be tolerated.

i i say he gets un banned..... i know that a lot of the times i do not look at the messages being typed by the concole and saying the thing that david posted....
As long as you promise you will not do something of the sort again... i say why not?

I don't no if a non ToB'er like meself has a say-so, but I do have an opinion!
Thumbs down, sez me. Let's call it 'premeditated swearing'.
You have to get mad, decide to go public with your anger, then type it all out.
It's not an instant process and the constant warnings have to be completely ignored. If you're on team speak and cuss, that's a moment's passion. This is not.

i have never been for banning anybody without a warning. as our rules state, warn, kick, temp ban, then perm ban.sorry for going against the grain here but the man also typed an apology, and he took the time to do that. you never know what might happen to that person in the future if i was banned the first time i played the server when we were a sniper without a no cross it was an honor system back then and i didnt know that and i crossed. and besides that if your going to be a stickler for the rules you have to be a stickler for all the rules not just some. and that means the warnings have to come first. may the flood of hate mail come forth. LOL

I agree with Brooks but feel these things should be on a case by case basis. A guy who uses an F-bomb and goes on playing is a bit different than the a-hole who comes in and is an idiot from the word "go".
Of all of the recent ban appeals, I think this guy was sincere.

If IF he wasn't warned than I say unban him most players at this time are dropping some curse words and we have to be resposible and lienient enough to warn them at least once..IF we as a clan are tooo stringent, then we will not be the number one server in COD4.
I will kick and or ban someone quicker than alot of you but I make sure the player clearly understands that he has gone beyond the limits of our server and my patience.
Just something to consider.

We have a very democratic clan, which is also very selective!
I was just about to post a comment stating I believe that perhaps you do rate a second chance as you were not warned.
However our rules as I understand do not extend that warning clause to use of the 'F' Bomb.
In any event the final decision rests with Uncle fester.
I like the rest of this clan will abide by his call.

For what it's worth, I agree with BOTH sides of this debate. The tolerant side of me (very rare, I don't suffer fools) says un-ban him and go with the second and only chance. He could be perm-banned immediately if he re-offends - no warning given.
I know we have to go by the rules and agree with them. But what's the point of having an appeals procedure if it never gets overturned?
Just my tuppence worth.

Bottom line the F Boom and apology and promise not to F Boom again (or any other rule) might get the Almighty Oracle to forgive.....however you need to state your intentions on how you will play in the future on a ToB server. So you understand clearly all BAN's are the call of our clan-master. Great guy but without a clear intention of your future game play you have no chance.
Recommend you type a clear post on how you will play in the future. Since NO ONE has ever survived a 2d chance failing....meaning don't screw up if given a chance.
As to this process its our opinions as members that UNCLEFESTER, listens to and takes in. BUT WE ALL ABIDE after a ruling.
We are one tenth clan and nine tenths family here at ToB, thats why you see the post like a family talking though an issue.

I have to agree with Curt. I do not see anything FUNNY about this process. But he did post about being unbanned. If he post his future actions on Tob server I think it would be ok for a 2nd chance.

maybe he didnt know the rules, just like you didnt know the rules the very first time you played here. you guys have to think of it that way we are one of the very few servers out that dont allow the use of bad language almost all the others allow it. the game is rated mature that means no one underage should be playing it.

Incorrect. I never knew the rules. Believe it or not. Either way doesn't make any difference.
Anyways, it's clear I'm not welcome on the server, I'm sure I'll live.

You would be welcome if you could live by our rules...and all would welcome you. If you can't then your have other options and I am sure we will live without your presents. However we really like players to enjoy there stay and not be inundated with bad language on screen....by the way everyone gets a chance for a single mistake. BUT They have to acknowledge it and state its not going to happen again.
OH and its not about making you grovel to play here its about making sure you understand ToB controls this server and will only allow good clean fun....language that can't be spoken at the dinner table is not good clean fun.

You don't have to know the rules and still be able to play on a server without dropping the F-bomb, or resorting to foul or off color language! If anything, if you are a new player, you would find out the rules, or stay quiet until you find out how the server works!
Why would anyone think they could just come on a server and start off with offensive language? Maybe just a lack of respect for the server and players! Just because other servers allow it, is no excuse. And I have to laugh when these guys say they thought the players on the server were mature!!!
Using profanity on the internet (public place), is displaying a lack of maturity. There are vast age differences playing, not to mention male/female, and to respect others and the server, using "gosh darn", or "rats", or "heck's fire", "phooey", or if words fail you, try NS, TY or just plain nothing should suffice!
If you can't play nice...vacate the AO!!:3some:

Using foul language IMHO is a sign of IGNORANCE and INABILITY to express oneself in an EDUCATED and ELOQUENT way.
Bovine Scathology is an acceptible term and sounds better than B**LS**T AND if one was a MASTER of Extemporaneous Oratory of Bovine Scathology then you would be "Full of B**LS**T".
Procreating is much nicer sounding than F***ing and if one was a MASTER of Extemporaneous Oratory of Procreating Bovine Scathology you could say they were "Full of F***ing B**LS**T".
And that is the end of today's English lesson...
