I was a little frustrated with the large, run-n-gun server climate this weekend so I went looking for something a little different and tried a small hardcore server or two. I noticed a few things:
No more tripping over people trying to get somewhere.
Enemies weren't spawning behind me all the time.
It allowed me to use my skills, rather than constantly dying in someone's nade/air/helo attack.
It gave a sense of teamwork to the battle. With only 8 or 10 folks on a side you could actually work together effectively.
The hardcore aspect (and no respawn) added a little realism that I didn't know was really missing. Made for a better challenge.
Rotating maps and mission types eliminated the boredom factor. Is there a hardocre server in the future ToB line-up? With the sniper and domination servers getting very little use...?
Thanks for hearing my $.02.
