I was a little frustrated with the large, run-n-gun server climate this weekend so I went looking for something a little different and tried a small hardcore server or two. I noticed a few things:

No more tripping over people trying to get somewhere.
Enemies weren't spawning behind me all the time.
It allowed me to use my skills, rather than constantly dying in someone's nade/air/helo attack.
It gave a sense of teamwork to the battle. With only 8 or 10 folks on a side you could actually work together effectively.
The hardcore aspect (and no respawn) added a little realism that I didn't know was really missing. Made for a better challenge.
Rotating maps and mission types eliminated the boredom factor. Is there a hardocre server in the future ToB line-up? With the sniper and domination servers getting very little use...?

Thanks for hearing my $.02.

I would also be very interested in that type of setup as well.

I'll try anything one time. Switched the server at 64.34.184.18:28960 over to Hardcore. I don't really see any difference. Tell me what it is you want here.

I don't mean to attempt to run this train by any means (!), but what *I* liked about it was a smaller limit (20-ish), rotating maps, rotating mission types, and no respawning until the end of the round. Made ya WORK!

Thanks, Unca Fester!! I'll check it out when I get home in...two hours!

PM me the ip address of the servers that you were playing on so I can see what they were doing.

Hardcore maps were just kinda made to be more real life...no maps no nothin but stronger weapons....its pretty cool. Was watching my dad play it.

Not better than Run and Gun though.

Uncle Fester, it took forever for the master server to load the one I was looking for last night, so my apologies for not posting it then.

Even thought they didn't rotate game types last night, the one I was looking at was Texas Toast Hardcore at 8.12.69.219:28960.

Yea I see what your talking about. I cannot seem to get our server to recognize the call for hardcore and keep it ranked. Still working on it.
