Tissue Please. :bigemo_453_net-1 I witnessed the whole thing. Some people work around the auto language checker.

I have noticed it myself frequently of late... guess what....I have in-built acronym and abbreviation checkers.......even if the language filter doesn't. And I Kick too...........just ask any of my ToB| family. (LOL)

Do all TOB members have rcon rights? It seems when bad things are happening, some of your members can't kick or ban players. I play mainly on your sniper 1 server and sometimes R&G server. You always have plenty of players so I would think its ok to kick a few wise guys once in awhile. All your regular player are cool and know the rules they dont need warnings, everyone should know what to do when you spawn on the wrong side. One guy was on the wrong side today and was 18-0 before he was asked to change sides! Thanks to TOB for kicking him. There are several rcon programs out there that make it easy to deal with server issues, I would think it good to give them to all TOB members. You run a great server, so just wondering. KING

Thought pondered: If wtf is unacceptable then why not lmao? Or is it?
Is it your intention to not allow any acronyms that state a less than an appealing word. Unfortunately some people need things spelled out in black and white.

Many thanks for keeping this a clean place to play.

I think we let lmao alone because it's meaning is of a light hearted fun nature. Were as wtf, wth, omfg, BS are derogatory (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Hope this answers your question.

Have to agree with you Jeff, especially given the number of acronyms that are not even understood by many........remember the "iwkaeof" = "I will keep an eye out for" and others that Chas and I started ...LOL

The blatant ones are not acceptable.

It is always difficult to draw lines. It clearly is subjective, but the net result is a far better experience for everyone. It is more a question of Order, and not Law.

All of you are aware that COD4 is rated M for blood and gore, intense violence, AND STRONG LANGUAGE. I realize keeping the server clean should be a priority but for a game designed for mature players (17+) some times it is taken too far, acronyms for example. There is language used in the game that would not be allowed on the server. My thoughts not yours.

Luckily we set the rules for our servers, not Infinity Ward or Activision. Whether a mature rated game or not, our server rules are clear and without exception. Feel free to play on our servers as long as you don't mind abiding by the rules.

For those who feel the need to curse or use bad acronyms, there's plenty of other servers to play on...

Our Clan goes back further than CoD4 and our rules were laid down then. We run a family environment with a clean, polite and friendly atmosphere. By playing on our servers, the guest (that is what a visiting player is) must abide by our rules, we are not a debating society, however we are a democracy and Clan Members frequently discuss issues in our non-public area. I don't go to someone else's home and tell them how to run it or what to do. It's just like going to the pub, you choose which one(s) you are comfortable in and miss the one(s) you are not, but you do not tell the landlord/landlady to change the way he/she runs his/her establishment.

There is strong language in the game and that is outside of our control. However the on-line gaming IS in our control and we have, as a family decided that we do not need that type of language. Just because I or you are an adult playing, doesn't mean that there isn't a minor reading the screen over our shoulder.

There are hundreds, if not thousands of game servers out there with a very lax attitude to what they tolerate, so anyone who does not agree to accept our rules are free to go elsewhere and we won't be offended should they do so.

Sorry for the length of my response, just needed to get it off my chest.

Very well put, Neil. I concur. My 9 year old son plays on our servers frequently and I would rather him hear swearing from his mom, not reading it from strangers. :)

2 more cents, Harsh language can aggravate someone having a bad day, taunting, abuse, or plain insults are not sportsmanlike conduct. COD4 is in many ways a virtual sport. TOB keeps it that way Bravo.

Clean language = clean fun.

Amen to that!

Should also do it on TS.

Be a leader and set the example.

Besides. Leaders lead, the rest just follow.

The way i look at it, if a player can't game with out trying to cuss a storm in the chat then they have a problem. I don't care what gets said in Ts as we know who each other is and moderate ourselves, but in game chat is not the place for spewing profanity from mild to wild. I believe in giving fair warning as ToB always does, but if the player continuously tries to circumvent the language filter by coming up with different ways of spelling the same curse word then they should get a temp kick after a warning.

Heres one of the ToB admins wearing his patented meat-head kicking boots, notice the boot is specially designed for maximum...*cough** insertion.:sheep:

For what it's worth, I too have played on other servers and read the profanity that comes across, and for me it makes an otherwise great game less appealing. When I came to this server, I was impressed by the warnings that appeared for those who used profanity, and acronyms relating the same. I have been further impressed by the "family" concept I have read throughout the forums here. That is why I play here almost exclusively, and respect the rules as they are. Keep up the good work.

As long as the servers are kept clean which they generaly are, that makes our servers stand out from the rest and thats what i and many others like about ToB.

As for teamspeak.....

Well....

To hear one of us swearing at the top of their voice cos they got shot is so funny lol and as for Stormee, she makes me die lol and Mike and Gordon are very entertaining to listen to them foaming at the mouth when they get shot lol

There also have been great matchs where we used tactics over TS and what a game that becomes.

As for on-line type swearing, there are enough automated warnings so NO excuses.
